Currently, thanks in part to society's greater awareness of energy and environmental issues, the vast majority of countries are promoting actions aimed at improving efficiency and savings through technical, economic and administrative measures and tools. In this sense, in recent years a series of directives have been developed by governments to achieve targets for reducing energy consumption and demand, as well as incentives through subsidies to promote energy efficiency, reduce energy dependence and reduce atmospheric emissions.

The integral water cycle companies are also promoting a series of measures to optimize energy consumption in different facilities of the integral water cycle. The control of energy consumption at each stage of the integral water cycle is, therefore, of vital importance to establish its impact and lay the foundations for proposing improvements in the system, and to apply a certain degree of efficiency in the consumption associated with the integral water cycle, first of all, the energy demand for each process and its savings potential must be identified. The scope of the energy consumption diagnosis includes the energy efficiency analysis of the equipment with the highest consumption and the study of the current energy billing, as well as other technical and operational aspects that allow optimizing the energy consumption of the installation.

In this context, Agbar's Water School is presenting the third edition of the free online course "Energy Efficiency in Water Installations".The program prepares professionals in the water sector to carry out an energy audit and to propose measures to improve the energy efficiency of the installation. Thus, it will allow them to know the necessary tools to diagnose energy consumption in these facilities, identifying and characterizing the factors that affect energy consumption, and thus, propose solutions and specific improvement measures.

This free course, for which the registration period is already open, will begin on February 21 on the Virtual Campus of the Water School.
