On World Teachers' Day, we not only pay tribute to all educators, we call on countries to invest in them and prioritize them in global education recovery efforts so that every student has access to a qualified and supported teacher. We call on countries to invest in them and prioritize them in global education recovery efforts so that every student has access to a qualified and supported teacher. Let's support our teachers!"

A year and a half after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, World Teachers' Day 2021 will emphasize the support that must be provided to teachers to fully participate in the recovery process.

The role of teachers has been fundamental during this year 2021. The coronavirus crisis has forced all sectors of society to adapt to a pandemic context, but the challenge faced by education has been one of the most significant. And from the Water School, we also want to highlight the work of our teachers, great professionals in the sector, who are dedicated to sharing their knowledge.

Unesco sets the celebration of World Teachers' Day, which has been held annually on October 5 since 1994. Beyond the international commemoration, there are many countries that dedicate days to the role of teachers in society. In Spain, for example, it is celebrated on November 5 in honor of Joseph Calasanz, Catholic priest, educator and patron of the first popular Christian school in Europe.
