This free course reviews, in its seven modules, the main technologies available for water reclamation, their operating principles and most important constraints. It reviews the most representative worldwide legislations on reclamation, comparing them with each other, and links all this information with the final use of the water.
Profiles with an interest in developing or continuing their professional development in water technology and management and sustainable development, and who wish to contribute to reducing water stress through alternative water sources.
Select the most appropriate reclamation technology depending on the water to be recycled.

This MOOC presents the knowledge required related to wastewater reclamation treatment. Both the context and the different uses of reclaimed water are shown, as well as the technologies required to carry out this wastewater reclamation.
In addition, it establishes the basis for the elaboration of a control plan for the different technologies by explaining the key review parameters. Finally, it addresses the development of the analytical plan to control the quality of the process, which is essential to comply with applicable legislation and to ensure best practices when recycling water from the treatment plant.

With more than 20 years of experience as a professional in the integral water cycle sector, he is currently in charge of the Baix Llobregat water treatment plant (Barcelona). This treatment plant includes one of the most important water regeneration stations in the world, which applies various technologies, such as ultrafiltration and osmosis treatment. The quality of the water obtained is so high that it can infiltrate the Llobregat aquifer. The maximum production capacity of reclaimed water is 100 million liters per year for different uses (agricultural irrigation, environmental use, municipal use, industrial use, etc.).
Degree in Chemical Sciences and postgraduate degree in Operation and Maintenance of Water Treatment Plants. Specialist in purification and effluent control.
With more than 15 years of experience as a professional in the water sector, he is responsible for the Department of Wastewater Treatment and Control of the North-South area of Murcia, which includes a WWTP, a WWTP with tertiary and digestion and five WWTPs in Lorca, a WWTP in Águilas and four WWTPs in Jumilla. He combines his previous position with that of manager of the wastewater treatment plant in Lorca (Murcia).
